About The War of Game

The War of Game is an episodic adventure, where the audience views the imagination of video gamers and the contrast between avatars and your average ordinary people. Currently a short film that lives on the web, The War of Game - Episode #1 - LOL-4-EVS has been shown in film festivals and to thousands of viewers via the internet. Released in June of 2008 as a way to visually explain the concept, The War of Game relates to its audience made of video gamers who grew up playing Atari and have graduated to online gaming. It is a chance to see that nerdy video gamers, who are socially awkward, can become anything from super hero’s to sports legends just by pushing a start button on a video game console. Aimed at a demographic of video gamers from the ages of 12-35, The War of Game is a chance for it’s audience to realize they are not alone.

Written and Co-Directed by Brandon Lawrence and Jacob Cooney, The War of Game: Episode #1 LOL-4-EVS was shot in the spring of 2008 in order to visualize the concept. The idea behind making it a ten minute short film was so it could stand alone as a film festival piece, but that was not the main intentions behind making the film. The short film is a pitch presentation for a greater episodic series that can dig deeper into the imagination of a gamer. Shot in two days over a weekend so that nobody involved missed work, with a minimal budget, The War of Game: Episode #1 LOL-4-EVS was extremely fun to be a part of for everyone involved.
